Formally the Peninsula Dry Cleaners Association "an Association for all Solutions"
WHO WE ARE...
Northern California Cleaners Association
NorCal Cleaners Association (NCCA)
Something old really can be new again! The PDCA has evolved! Did you know that at one time, California had up to 7 local dry cleaning Associations throughout the State? Over the years, most local Associations dissolved, leaving only two remaining; the Peninsula Dry Cleaners Association, which covers Northern California Peninsula and San Francisco Bay Area cleaners, and the Greater Los Angeles Dry Cleaners Association or GLADCA, covering Los Angeles cleaners.
Peninsula Dry Cleaners Association, or PDCA, is one of the oldest local dry cleaners associations in the State of California. Peninsula Dry Cleaners Association was founded in 1963. Nearly 50 years ago, PDCA’s founding fathers believed the Association’s format should bring the latest in professional structure, education, and current technology to the cleaners in the Northern California San Francisco and Bay Area region. Local dry cleaners and Allied Trade members supported the PDCA.
For the last 5 years, northern California’s Peninsula Dry Cleaners Association has been quietly on hiatus. Last month, a meeting was held to discuss what steps or direction the PDCA should take; either disband the Association or re-ignite an interest for the northern California cleaners. The PDCA Board and members in attendance, agreed to extend an outreach to northern California cleaners, who no longer have a regional local association, and renamed the older Association to Northern California Cleaners Association or NorCal Cleaners Association. Territories will encompass all the older Central Valley Dry Cleaners Association, East Bay Dry Cleaners Association, Sacramento Dry Cleaners Association, and Redwood Empire Dry Cleaners Association cleaners.
Membership is open to every cleaner. Hence, generating a tag line of ‘an Association for all Solutions’. No matter which method of cleaning or what problems the cleaner has, NCCA can offer solutions. This tag line was
purposeful and reflective of the PDCA’s original founding father’s format. Owners of Dry/Wet Cleaning operating facilities, Laundry facilities, persons involved in the Industry relating to Cleaning, including but not limited to, Manufacturers of cleaning and laundry equipment, Vendors, Suppliers of cleaning alternatives and other chemicals used in the cleaning Industry, are invited to apply.
The newly formed NorCal Cleaners Association will offer workshops and seminars throughout the region, with a variety of subjects to help all members in this problematic economic and regulatory time, regardless of their size or cleaning methods. Members will enjoy these regional gatherings fellow cleaners, educating themselves with topics that will save them money and increase their sales; a very valuable combination with today's business climate.
NorCal Cleaners membership will reach cleaners from California’s Central Valley, across to the Pacific and the farthest Northern part of the State. For NorCal Cleaners Association membership information, please go to www.norcalcleaners.comfor an application.
